John Dumelo calls for recount in Ayawaso West Wuogon race

The provisional results for the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections have started trickling in after polls closed at 5 pm nationwide on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Polls opened at 7 am on Monday, December 7, 2020, for eligible voters to cast their ballots for their preferred candidates in the tightly-contested race.

Maa Lydia takes lead in 2020 parliamentary election The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency has taken an early lead over her opponent and NDC’s John Dumelo.

John Dumleo, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has called for a recount, following his defeat to the NDC candidate, Lydia Alhassan.

Dumelo cited irregularities in the vote-counting process, asserting that his votes were swapped with those of his opponent in some constituencies.

“I have officially written to the District Electoral officer to request for a recount across the constituency due to several irregularities.” he wrote on Twitter.
