Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has become the most awarded African artiste in the history of the BET.
The Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards that came off on Sunday, June 28, 2019, saw Wizkid add another prestigious award to his catalogue of awards and recognition.
The song ‘Brown Skin Girl’ which he did with Beyonce on the Lion King: The Gift album won an award in the ‘BET HER award’ category.
This adds up to three of the total number of awards he has won at the BET including the BET Best International Act Africa awards he won in 2012 and 2017 respectively.
Other artistes on the continent who follow him closely are Burna Boy and Sarkodie with two awards each at the BET.
